1. Product description

WebmasterID is a privacy-first analytics platform consisting of a browser tracker, a server-side ingest API, and an operator dashboard. See /architecture for the full system shape and /privacy-first-analytics for what is and is not collected.

2. Early-stage / internal beta

The Service is currently in an early / internal stage. Features, interfaces, and availability may change without notice. We do not commit to uptime SLAs at this stage; reasonable best efforts apply.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Track visitors unlawfully or without disclosures required by your jurisdiction.
  • Process special-category or sensitive personal data not contemplated by the Service.
  • Attempt to identify individual visitors via the Service.
  • Reverse engineer, exploit, or otherwise abuse the Service.
  • Resell, sublicense, or repackage the Service without permission.
  • Send or store unlawful, infringing, malicious, or harmful content.

4. Customer responsibility

You are responsible for installing the WebmasterID tracker on sites you control or have authorization to instrument, for providing any cookie / consent / privacy notices required by your jurisdiction, and for obtaining lawful basis to process analytics data about your site's visitors. WebmasterID does not provide consent management as part of the tracker; if your jurisdiction requires consent for analytics, that is your responsibility to implement.

5. Dashboard access

Access to the operator dashboard, where applicable, is granted to authorised individuals associated with a customer site. You are responsible for keeping any access credentials, API keys (including wmsk_ server-side secrets), and dashboard accounts secure. You agree to notify us promptly if you believe credentials have been compromised.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. While the Service is designed to accurately classify and store analytics data, no analytics system is perfect; you should not rely solely on WebmasterID for legally significant decisions.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount paid by you for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 100 where the Service has been provided free of charge. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in the United States.
